Swansea Is The Place To Be!

Swansea’s Wind street is the number 1 place to be on Friday and Saturday nights! Together with Salubrious Place (Little Wind street) with its food venues, cascino and nightclub this street is the most happening place to be! Closed to all traffic on the weekend nights this street becomes packed with people looking for a good time. Serious bar-hoppers love this street, with more than twenty different bars such as Walkabout and Revolution to wet your whistle in or get your grove on! Guaranteed there’s something for everyone!

And if that isn’t enough for you the Kings way is within 5 minutes walking distance away with another dozen place’s to go. One of which a brand new super club called Oceana, with two night club’s and five bar’s!!!

Swansea really is the place to be!

Cocktails!!!

Oh what a wonderful invention the cocktail is! No one knows for sure where and when the cocktail was first invented but to be honest who cares! Cocktails are becoming more and more popular, and anyone can make them as long as it has some sort of alcohol in it can be classed as a cocktail.

Binge Britain

http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200708/r168739_630541.jpg

Binge drinkers- Going back to my teen years we were labelled lager louts, yes I can remember being 16 getting my first job and going out on the town every night getting in at 4am and going back to work at 7am,but never did we fight, vandalise or even kill anyone, The goverment have now pointed out about fears of binge drinking in britain, i can remember Tony Blair once commenting, “There is a clear and growing problem in our town and city centres up and down the country on Friday and Saturday nights” and then reports of his 16yr old son who was found vomiting and incohorent on a London street, some example Mr Blair.

And now the goverment’s answer to all this is to get supermarkets to take the blame for this growing problem selling cheap alcohol and to combat this raise taxes, oh yes that should put a end to all this and what a nice little bonus in politician’s pay packets. Why does it always come down to taxes???????????????

Calorific Alcopops

There are a wide range of alcoholic drinks on the market.

The alcopop market is worth over £1billion in the UK alone. Alcopops are pre-mixed spirits in small bottles. The alcohol volume content can range between 4% – 7% each, and one bottle of 275ml with a 5.5% alcohol volume is 1.5 units. They are filled with added sugar, colourings and flavourings.

Alcopops are full of calories and with a nation obsessed with obesity should we really be drinking so many?

Below is a graph showing the amount of calories there are in these five brands of alcopops

Bacardi Breezers, Reef, Smirnoff, VK and WKD.

How To Avoid A Hangover.

A handy website all about hangovers

Going out on the lash? Got work early the next morning and the last thing you need is a hangover? Here are my top 10 tips on how to avoid a hangover.

No: 1 Don’t drink

But that’s just plain boring! You want to be invited to parties again.

No: 2 Eat a good meal before going out.

Fatty food is digested really slowly. This will protect the lining of the stomach, stopping it from absorbing the alcohol too quickly.

No: 3 Glass or milk

A glass of full fat milk is good if you haven’t got time for a big meal. It will protect the lining of the stomach stopping it from absorbing the alcohol too quickly.

No: 4 Hydration tablets.

You need to take one tablet for every alcoholic drink you have for this to work.

No: 5 Glass of water between each drink

Alternate between a glass of water and alcoholic drink so you don’t get dehydrated.

No: 6 Drink lighter coloured alcohol

Theory is that the higher the amount of a substance called congeners in alcoholic drinks the more likely you will have a hangover. The darker the drink the higher the amount of congeners’.

So avoid red wine, port and black sambuca!

No: 7 Avoid fizzy mixers

Fizzy pop helps alcohol to get into the blood stream faster therefore getting you drunk more quickly.

No: 8 Food after

Eating after a night out can help to absorb the alcohol you have just drunk.

No: 9 Pint of water

Before going to bed drink a pint of water. A hangover is caused because the body is dehydrated. Drinking a pint of water before going to bed will help to combat this.

No: 10 Painkillers

In anticipation you will still have a hangover in the morning, take two painkillers before going to bed.
